I am a certified Level 3 Iyengar Yoga teacher with more than 20 years of experience.
Coming from a background of dance and theatre, my yoga journey began on a purely physical level but has now become so much more. My aim is to bring yoga and its many benefits to all walks of life, yoga is for everyone, no matter your background, beliefs or ability.
I was drawn towards yoga on my first visit to India in 2000. It was the beginning of an epic journey around the world. India itself blew my mind, an assault to the senses would be putting it mildly! Everything was new and exciting and I never imagined, at the time, that it would have such an impact on my life and I’d be back to visit again and again.
In 2006, after several years of practice, I started training to teach in my home town of Birmingham. I have since continued to further my studies with many amazing teachers both here in the UK and in India. I feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to learn with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar at the RIMYI home of Iyengar Yoga in Pune, India.
Through years of training and practice I discovered that my interests lay in therapeutics and how to use yoga as a tool for healing the body and mind. Since 2018 I have had the privilege of working alongside my teacher Sheila Haswell to assist in her medical classes. This has been an invaluable opportunity, drawing me closer to my goal of helping others to fix the body and calm the ever wandering mind through the practice of yoga.
“Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.” B.K.S. Iyengar
